Karma on ProBoards is used basically as an approval rating. Members are able to smite and exalt their fellow members once an hour based on whether they like or dislike the member. All members will start with a karma of 0.
What does exalt do?
If you like a member, exalt them. By exalting them, you will increase their karma by one point. For example, if the user has a karma of 0, he will now have a karma of 1.
What does smite do?
smite (smīt)
1. a. To inflict a heavy blow on, with or as if with the hand, a tool, or a weapon.
Its not as bad as it sounds! If you don't like a member click the smite link (please don't go to their house and "inflict a heavy blow.") If the user has a karma of 0, and you smite the user, he will have a karma of -1.
Some one is smiting me for no reason!
Don't worry, a system for detecting karma cheating is being worked on.
I can't exalt/smite!
Remember, there is a 1 hour time limit.
